Instead of a breast reduction...

How pretty is this bra?! (It's Matisse by Freya)

A Current Affair is showing a piece on pretty and comfortable bras for us DD+ girls as I type. Because we all know how difficult it is to find a well fitting, comfortable DD+ bra that doesn't look like someone in a nursing home would be the only one who would want to wear it.*

Apparently, women are going to a certain store to buy bras instead of getting breast reduction surgery!

It says on their website - Beautiful Lingerie and Swimwear D cup & above.
D cup and above sounds good to me! I'm sorry but I sorta like that smaller sizes are excluded as we bigger girls have had to deal with being excluded for so long with so many bras finishing at a D cup, not starting there!

Maybe we should check it out? All I've noticed so far is that the bras seem abit co$tly. But they may be worth it because they're so pretty!

Well, I'm off to check out Brava Lingerie, you can buy the bras online too. I'll let you know what I think!
* I'm sure that alot of people in nursing homes want to wear funky but comfortable bras too. At least I think I will when I'm in a nursing home...

Welcome to a 36MMM

(36 = 14 in Oz)

Gravity-defying Maxi Mounds grabbed the title for the largest artificial boobs in the world in 2005 after having the surgery, which encouraged her breasts to grow bigger.

But now safety concerns have led the operation - called the polyproplyene string technique - to be banned.

What I want to know is how does she carry them? Why would ANYONE want boobs that big? Where did the skin come from to stretch over them?

Fine Lines - Body Essentials Fuller Figure Strapless Contour Bra

So I thought for my first post I'd share my all time favourie bra with you...

This is it -

It's from Fine Lines and it is, to me, the ultimate bra. It can do anything, a.k.a it is convertible.
So it can be worn be worn as a strapless, halter neck, cross-over back and regular bra. What more could you want!?

As a girl whose breasts developed quite early and quite quickly (I needed my first bra at 11 years old and they just kept growing!) I had thought I would never be able to wear anything strapless. For my year ten formal when I was 16 my Mum (who is as flat as they come, sorry Mum) took me bra shopping so I could feel comfortable in my gorgeous formal dress. The dress had spaghetti straps and I was upset because I didn't have a nice bra to wear under it. The lady at the dress shop had suggested that I go braless, but this horrified me - no support! Had she seen how big my breasts were?!

So off to David Jones Mum took me. She felt, and still feels, this is the best place to buy a good bra. She may be right because this is where we found the Fine Lines Convertible bra. Mum bought me two, a black and a white, because she was so impressed with how well they fit me.

I've been buying them ever since then and I've never been dissapointed. The give great support and are really comfortable.

The picture doesn't really do it justice as the model wearing it is clearly not in the target audience of this blog. But I wasn't going to take a photo of myself wearing it...

Price - Around $47.95 - I know it sounds pricey; but this bra is definetely worth it. Honestly. It will last a long time and looks great on. Buy it in Nougat so you can maxamise wearability.

Size Range - 10B - 16E

Colour Range - The website says it comes in Nougat, Ivory and Black, I had a white one once but I guess they just do Ivory instead now.

Other Accessories - Their are briefs in matching colours for about $15.95 each (I don't have these so I don't know what they are like).

My Scores -

Support & Comfort- 4.5/5 (it lost a half point because sometimes when I've been wearing it all night I sigh with a little bit of relief when I take it off. It may be because I need to go up a size, but it's meant to be a little bit tight, I think, so it can hold you up without the straps, for support alone I'd give it 5/5 for sure)

Overall Look - 4/5 (this is not a bra bought for looks, but for support and function - it does look good but lets face it, it's not hot pink and lacy so I can't score it too highly!)

Wearability - 5/5 (In my opinion you can wear this with anything (except for really low cut tops etc)

Website - http://www.finelineslingerie.com.au/ and you can also buy it at BnT and David Jones.
*FineLines no longer available at BnT-Dataceptionist

Hope you liked my first review!

* If you have any feedback on the format of this review or the scoring, please feel free to leave a comment. Thanks :-)
