Oy, sorry again, but check out Zodee

Very sorry to all, the blogging in general has kind of gotten away from me in the lead up to christmas.

I haven't recieved it yet, but I've just recently bought the Paragon by Fayreform from zodee.com.au, which is a great website for large cup sizes. I've been having a ball looking through their styles available, and one of their best features is an extremely good Search function. You plug in your chest size and your cup size and it brings up everything they have in that size, plus an option to view the clearance items in your size.
While I know not everyone's going to be super keen to purchase online, I mostly feel comfortable with a brand like Fayreform, because they're SUCH good quality.
Another great thing about Zodee is that they carry swimwear, in larger busts. They even have a whole link labelled D+ Cups, which if you're like me, and hate pawing through the racks for something larger than a triangle, you're laughing.
I also bought this bikini, in the black print-

different bottoms and tops available, don't you just love seperates!

I'll let you know how it goes too. (I know, she does NOT look like a D cup in this photo, so will have to hope for the best....)

Berlei - New Legend Underwire Sports Bra

DD-sportsberlei, originally uploaded by dataceptionist.
Oh oh I just wish I could jump around while telling you how much I love this bra. Really. I loved it when I tried it on, I loved it when I showed my husband how great it was and I still love it now I've actually exercised in it.
Cannot recommend it enough!!!

Support & Comfort
- 5 / 5
I love it! I used to watch my boobs bounce up and down in the tv screen attached to the top of the X-trainer. NOW they barely move!!

Overall Look - Not rated
I haven't rated this as Sports Bras aren't built for look, they're built for use!
The only look comment I can make it that it separates, which I prefer to smooshing them together.

Wearability
- 5 / 5
Fantastic, not uncomfortable at all- before the workout or after.

Price
- $49.95   Totally worth it.

Size Range
- 10-18 B-F (E largest in 10, B smallest in 18)

Colour Range -
White, Latte (nude) and Black

Other Accessories
- Not applicable. Does convert to Racer Back which is handy

Purchase online at Zodee (white/nude only)

Ultimate Body - Milano

After my Intimo disappointment, I took myself to Bras N Things to see what they carried in my (new) size. My T-shirt bra has been woefully inadequate for QUITE some time now, so I was pleased with this one. Its virtually a strapless, billed as 5-way convertible: Normal straps. Racer back straps. Halter strap. Detachable straps. Low back with Halter strap. So it does everything BUT strapless.
I purchased in the nude colour.

Support & Comfort
- 5 / 5
Doesn't dig in, wear all day without hassle.

Overall Look - 4.5 / 5
Great look, all "out in front" not "east west" which is a preference of mine. Lost half a point because as the day goes there is slight movement toward the centre, but not quite a double-boob, so thumbs up.

Wearability
- 5 / 5
I have continuously worn this one since I wore it, alternating only with the one other I bought that day.

Price
- $39.99   VERY affordable.  +++

Size Range
- 10-16 B-E

Colour Range -
Black, white, latte and seasonal colours. The sales girl also helpfully told me they sell them occassionally as twin packs in colours. On the net currently you can get a twin of Amethyst & Slate for only $70

Other Accessories
-
Part of Ultimate Body, its mostly smooth microfibre style shapewear and seamless. Mix n match :)

Berlei - Barely There Contour

The Berlei Undetectable Contour Bra, does not feel as Divine as the Undetectable Contour Bra,
but it still quite smooth, and is more that easily accessible and available - notoriety a definite plus!

Support & Comfort- 3.5 / 5
Much the same as the Anna, the Berlei Barely There Contour bra is a good everyday option, which in a pinch (with added help of the luxe options) will transform you to a sex kitten without the hassle.
The wide straps, add terrific support and the cups are positioned at a good point in your frame so you don't feel smooched together or separated too much.

Overall Look - 2.5 / 5
The 'Barely Nude' colour isn't a lot to look at to be honest. To cater for a larger bust the straps are widened to eliminate pressure on the straps (and dreaded cutting in look) giving you a good line under shirts.
Fortunately there is a lace & luxe option to add some pizzazz!
I feel as though mine may be too small in the cup, despite being fitted, as I end up hoicking things around during the day to rearrange.

Price - $49.95

Size Range - 10A - 16E

Colour Range - Very extensive; White, Black, Barely Nude, Alabaster (Off White), Pink Delight (Light Pink), Fuchsia (Pink), Tigerlilly (Tangerine), Surf Navy (Light Blue - pictured), Java Green (Light Green), Seduction (Magenta), Brown Suede (Brown), Rio Red (Red) and Mood Indigo (Dark Blue)

Other Accessories - The Barely There comes with a brief (pictured)
Also available in Lace and Luxe options in varied colours - very much dependent on availability.
Potentially interesting is also the Barely There Strapless Bra (not pictured on the website but see: http://www.zodee.com.au/ ) as a replacement for the potentially defunct Smooth Operator?

Berlei - Undetecable Contour

So with the Anna, my flagship everyday bra erased as an option I went off *under duress* to find a replacement and immediately found a divinely smooth and sleek option.

As an aside - I initially stepped into Bras N Things, and we greeted by a woman wearing a lanyard proclaiming her 'Fitting Specialist' - who was wearing a totally wrong fitting bra, double breast action, so I bought pajama's and went to David Jones where a sturdy older woman served me.

The Berlei Undetectable Contour Bra, feels lovely. The material is heavenly smooth, but somewhat disappointing on.

Support & Comfort- 2.5 / 5
For a start, the cup was not big enough. To go up I would have had to go to a 16DD, which would have meant that the bra would have been too big around my chest.
The bra did support, but the cup (as sort of pictured) felt as if it were pancaking my breast and thrusting them together to create a cleavage, and at the same time giving breast spill issues.
I guarantee Sophie Faulkner is having some double boob here but we cannot see it.

Overall Look - 2.5 / 5
I am quite middle of the road about this bra.
If indeed it's purpose was to create a cleavage, job done - but not a nice rounded cleavage more, lift, separate and then attempt a cleavage.
I did personally not like the way it fit. I needed a larger cup in my books, and it just does not exist.

Price - $49.95

Size Range - Fairly average, 10A - 16DD

Colour Range - Almond (skin), Black, Red, and Navy.

Other Accessories - I have not sited the bras to know what size but Berlei list a Undetectable Push-Up Contour Bra, Undetectable Lace Contour Bra and Lace Hipster Panties.

Intimo - Sherbet

Firstly this bra doesn't come in the size that I was fitted to on the night, so already a strike against the bra. The bra I was supplied with was a 12DD. Riiiiiiiggghhht.
(*Edit- I should qualify that I was fitted, said I wanted *this* bra and she wrote it down. I didn't realise she was writing down 12DD, had I been given a choice of size, I doubt I would have ordered a 12DD right after being fitted so different)

Support & Comfort
- 2 / 5
Rubbish fit. It wasn't tight enough, there was no lift, there was no....anything. terrible terrible terrible, I was never going to keep it. I wish I'd realised it had been ordered in 12DD, I possibly would have told her not to bother. I would compare it to the Lemon Meringue above actually, but at least there was some lift.

Overall Look
- 2 / 5
I'm sure when it fits its looks quite cute, but it was just kind of saggy and sad looking.

Wearability
- 0 / 5
At no point did I even consider keeping this, it seriously was never going to fit.

Price
- $49.50

Size Range
- Quite small, only 32 (10) - 34 (12) A-DD

Colour Range -
Just Black and white unfortunately, but they do occassionally do seasonal colours aparently.

Other Accessories -
As above, there is a cami, boy short, V-string, no regular brief.

Intimo- an introduction

I went to an Intimo party last week. For the uninitiated Intimo is a party plan/direct selling company that sells underwear and some clothing. Like Tupperware but bras and knickers.

One of the services Intimo provide is a fitting, which I might add she does preface with "this is your Intimo size, but it should give you a guide when you go into other stores"

The last time I was fitted we worked out was a year ago, at a friends party, and I'm pretty sure I was sized correctly at the time (12DD). I was expecting slight variation, but essentially the same. Possibly a little smaller around the rib cage since I shed some of the dreaded "back fat".

So it was with great surprise she revealed I was now a 10EE.

"Oh for heavens sake, like I don't have enough trouble buying bras already" I thought!
So, stay tuned for reviews of the Intimo bras, and whether their sizing system actually works, since the way they operate, you don't actually get to try on the bra you're buying. She will generally only have one bra in your size, and you have to guesstimate how that fit will work on another bra.
**Mystique Set shown above. I'll be reviewing this upon receipt of it.

A sad day

I found out today, that the Anna bra has been discontinued.
Apprently the bra sold really well during sales, but as a full price item of a measly $39.95 the bra didn't sell.

I am crushed. RIP Anna.

cotton on - "Jade Contour" (feat. in Lemon Meringue)

Sorry we've been to tardy of late! Back to your scheduled programming!
cotton on, originally uploaded by dataceptionist.

Third time's a charm?

Unfortuntely, no, and it was at this opportunity, I decided that perhaps Cotton On Body, wasn't for me. This was the worst fit of all three I tried on. There was NO support to speak of, shape was horrid, it was sort of... flappy... at top. Where the lace is on the cup, it didn't mold to the breast AT ALL. It just sort of... hung. This was by far the worst of them all, and I don't think I'll be returning to Cotton on Body anytime soon (not for bras anyway-they DO have a wonderful selection of briefs and sleepwear however).

Price: $10.00 (on sale) RRP $19.95

Instead of a breast reduction...

How pretty is this bra?! (It's Matisse by Freya)

A Current Affair is showing a piece on pretty and comfortable bras for us DD+ girls as I type. Because we all know how difficult it is to find a well fitting, comfortable DD+ bra that doesn't look like someone in a nursing home would be the only one who would want to wear it.*

Apparently, women are going to a certain store to buy bras instead of getting breast reduction surgery!

It says on their website - Beautiful Lingerie and Swimwear D cup & above.
D cup and above sounds good to me! I'm sorry but I sorta like that smaller sizes are excluded as we bigger girls have had to deal with being excluded for so long with so many bras finishing at a D cup, not starting there!

Maybe we should check it out? All I've noticed so far is that the bras seem abit co$tly. But they may be worth it because they're so pretty!

Well, I'm off to check out Brava Lingerie, you can buy the bras online too. I'll let you know what I think!
* I'm sure that alot of people in nursing homes want to wear funky but comfortable bras too. At least I think I will when I'm in a nursing home...

Welcome to a 36MMM

(36 = 14 in Oz)

Gravity-defying Maxi Mounds grabbed the title for the largest artificial boobs in the world in 2005 after having the surgery, which encouraged her breasts to grow bigger.

But now safety concerns have led the operation - called the polyproplyene string technique - to be banned.

What I want to know is how does she carry them? Why would ANYONE want boobs that big? Where did the skin come from to stretch over them?

Fine Lines - Body Essentials Fuller Figure Strapless Contour Bra

So I thought for my first post I'd share my all time favourie bra with you...

This is it -

It's from Fine Lines and it is, to me, the ultimate bra. It can do anything, a.k.a it is convertible.
So it can be worn be worn as a strapless, halter neck, cross-over back and regular bra. What more could you want!?

As a girl whose breasts developed quite early and quite quickly (I needed my first bra at 11 years old and they just kept growing!) I had thought I would never be able to wear anything strapless. For my year ten formal when I was 16 my Mum (who is as flat as they come, sorry Mum) took me bra shopping so I could feel comfortable in my gorgeous formal dress. The dress had spaghetti straps and I was upset because I didn't have a nice bra to wear under it. The lady at the dress shop had suggested that I go braless, but this horrified me - no support! Had she seen how big my breasts were?!

So off to David Jones Mum took me. She felt, and still feels, this is the best place to buy a good bra. She may be right because this is where we found the Fine Lines Convertible bra. Mum bought me two, a black and a white, because she was so impressed with how well they fit me.

I've been buying them ever since then and I've never been dissapointed. The give great support and are really comfortable.

The picture doesn't really do it justice as the model wearing it is clearly not in the target audience of this blog. But I wasn't going to take a photo of myself wearing it...

Price - Around $47.95 - I know it sounds pricey; but this bra is definetely worth it. Honestly. It will last a long time and looks great on. Buy it in Nougat so you can maxamise wearability.

Size Range - 10B - 16E

Colour Range - The website says it comes in Nougat, Ivory and Black, I had a white one once but I guess they just do Ivory instead now.

Other Accessories - Their are briefs in matching colours for about $15.95 each (I don't have these so I don't know what they are like).

My Scores -

Support & Comfort- 4.5/5 (it lost a half point because sometimes when I've been wearing it all night I sigh with a little bit of relief when I take it off. It may be because I need to go up a size, but it's meant to be a little bit tight, I think, so it can hold you up without the straps, for support alone I'd give it 5/5 for sure)

Overall Look - 4/5 (this is not a bra bought for looks, but for support and function - it does look good but lets face it, it's not hot pink and lacy so I can't score it too highly!)

Wearability - 5/5 (In my opinion you can wear this with anything (except for really low cut tops etc)

Website - http://www.finelineslingerie.com.au/ and you can also buy it at BnT and David Jones.
*FineLines no longer available at BnT-Dataceptionist

Hope you liked my first review!

Cotton On - "Princess Lace Contour"

Very odd bra! I tried this one on after the White T-shirt racer back one, expecting probably a similar fit. WRONG.

Well. Not wrong in a good way unfortunately. Wrong in that they didn't fit in exactly the same manner, but still bad fit. This one almost had potential, as perhaps a cheap little bra designed to be worn for ten minutes before some business time, of which, hey, absolutely nothing wrong with that in my book! But you couldn't wear it to dinner before your sexy time, in preperation for an immediate strip tease back home, it just wouldn't support you that long.

It actually had a really interesting design in that there was heaps of support on the undersides of the breasts, on the outer toward the armpit , succeeding in lifting and giving Va-voom factor, but you would spill out the top eventually (say, after more than ten minutes wearing it). Massive cleavage factor, which was kind of cool, but just not practical. And unfortunately, that's just not enough for us big boob gals.

Price: $10.00 (on sale) RRP $19.95

Size range 8 - 14DD

Colour Range- range of colours available from white, black, the one above is called "Fluoro Purple" even though it looks like a hot pink. It comes in a ton of other colours also.
Other accessories- This range of bras comes with matching hi cut lace "skimpy" style panties in all colours.

Scores
Support & Comfort- 2 /5

Wearability - 1/5 - given purely because for a fraction of a second I nearly let the colour and dlace blind me and buy it.

Cotton On Body - Essential T-Shirt with Racer back clip

cotton on, originally uploaded by dataceptionist.

This was my first foray into Cotton On Body to actually think about buying something for day-to-day wear. My only other experience with the store was a hasty trip before a dirty weekend away to buy something sexy, and cheap.
The prices are one of the reasons to have a look at Cotton On Body, they're incredibly cheap by market comparison. The thing that will probably bring you into the store however is the colour and variety. Everything is coloured and patterned, which is a nice change to Bras N Things (but they're getting there too)

This bra was terrible, I think it probably works well as a small bust bra, but they didn't really allow for the fuller nature of the bust in the larger size. The sales girl readily admitted they're just branching into the larger cups so maybe there is hope in the future.

Price: $19.95

Size range 8 - 14DD

Colour Range- range of colours available from white, black, nude, pink, aqua, purple (two shades) and peach.
Other accessories- This range of bras does come with matching briefs in a "seamless" style in most colours.

Ultimate Body "Smooth Operator" Strapless Bra

Aside from singing "Smooth Operator" every time I put this bra on, I also always have an internal happy thought at the discovery of this bra.
I now wear halter neck tops, boob tubes and strappy tops where once I didn't. It has opened a new clothing avenue.
The molded cups support and cup without enveloping your boobs to the point which eliminates the need for a strapless anyway.
The adhesive plastic film on the inside is quite robust, making it almost a struggle to get on! But well and truly support when the time comes.
It is convertible accommodating halter, crossed back, standard and STRAPLESS.
I find this bra so amazing that I wear it strapless even when the need does not call, like for a halter top.
It can be worn all day without losing it's grip - but I still find the occasional unattractive "bra hoik" is required to realign everything.
If they ever stop making this bra and the "Anna" I will be lost at sea without a paddle. It is my lifesaver - part two.

Down side; sadly like "Anna" the "Smooth Operator" comes in a exceedingly limited colour range, skin and black - but as a utilitarian bra these are really they only requirements.

Price: $39.95
Stockists: Ultimate Body is available exclusively through Bras N Things, for stores visit the website or BNT are available to buy online.

Not a DD+, more like the whole alphabet

My goodness.
I look at this woman and I see a beast of burden, I cannot even imagine HOW her back feels or how she sleeps without suffocating herself or partner.
Just think when you're back gets tense... it could be worse.

Simone Perele "Marquises" Push Up Bra

Two things come into mind for this review:
  1. Do DD+ need to be pushed up
  2. And does Simone Perele have to do it?

In the interest of this blogs well being I decided to go bra shopping tonight. Strictly in the interest of... brascience you understand.
Having never tried on a push up bra owing to the fact I thought there was no need I was pleased to see this bra did not make me look all breast.

It's sexy, gives you're girls a boost and still sheer enough not to create any lumps or bumps under clothing. The fine lace is embroidered with lotus flowers, and the seperated straps have a little flower on them joining the straps.

Colours: White, Black, Navy (pictured & purchased), Skin and Light Pink

Price: $108.00 ** Purchased for $84.00 at Factory Outlet.

Website: http://www.simone-perele.com/

Stockists: Simone Perele brand is available through major department stores, Myer and David Jones, there are also Simone Perele stores & Parramatta Brand Smart building has a factory outlet.

Other accessories: They make several panties; G-String, Bikini and a Fuller Lace Bikini (pictured above)

Pretty Sports Bras, but not for us.

15052008, originally uploaded by dataceptionist.

Target has a new range of Sports bras I discovered last night. They're so colourful! So Fun!
Of course they don't even reach a D, let alone a DD.
Why?! Fuller busts don't exercise!!??
GAH!

Short Stories "Anna" Microfibre T Shirt Bra

The "Anna" Microfibre balconette contoured hidden under wire bra is my lifesaver.
As a TShirt bra, importantly but not exclusively it gives you the smooth lines underneath a smart business shirt or clingy jumper that makes this bra worth it's price.
In addition once the shirt comes off, I might add it holds it's own looking like a fairly sexy little number - giving enough support and LIFT to look and feel incredible.
When fitted properly (and I CANNOT stress this point enough) it will 100% contain any difficult side boob, double boob issues.
Down side; sadly "Anna" only comes in skin tone. I would adore it to come in every colour under the sun but you have to take the good with the bad.
Price: $39.95

Kayser "Brazilian" Moulded Full Lace

Sometimes, you just bag a winner. I love this bra. In reviewing it, I'm trying to figure out why I don't own more of them? I remember when they were released rejoicing that finally women with larger cups could buy well priced pretty lacy bras. Great support, great comfort factor. They are a moulded style (Not padded though) like a T-shirt bra, but lacy.
Great colour range, with new colours each season, and they're cost efficient enought to own a wardrobe's worth. There is no double-boob in this bra (spilling out the top of the cups) nor out the bottom of the cups. Good strap style, suitable for strappy singlet tops, and in the range of colours available, if you can see the straps its not such a disaster.

Website
-http://www.kayserbrazilian.com.au/
I apologise in advance, their website is incredibly sluggish to navigate.

Stockists
can be found on the Kayser website, although I found this feature a bit clunky. A better bet, (and cheaper) will probably be your local Big W, find locations for your nearest store at http://www.bigw.com.au/stores.asp.

Size range
appears to be 8-14 and they have apparently just released new colours and styles to cater up to E.
As its Big W though, be aware that of course they won't carry a lot of stock in the higher cups.

Other accessories- Happily there is quite the range of other items, including several styles of undies and G's, chemises and nightgowns, in the full gamut of colours.
